Indulge Clothing interviewd Willabelle after her shots were taken for Sheila Magazine.  Heres a little insight into Willabelle....

INDULGE : Describe your style

 

WILLABELLE : I can't quite put a particular word to what my style is but I guess it could be described as a mix of different kinds of pieces thrown together to create something personal for myself. I'm extremely biased toward dull coloured clothing so my style tends to revolve around ideas of grunge and sometimes, eccentricity. I also like experimenting with versatile pieces and trying out new, different things.

 

INDULGE : What was your first influence with clothing? Where/who did you get your passion from?

 

WILLABELLE : I knew my mum always loved dressing up and as I grew up, I started noticing the clothes and accessories she wore. She is my first and greatest inspiration in everything, including fashion. Living in two countries, Singapore and Australia, have proved as wide exposures to the different fashion scenes and I only started taking fashion seriously when I discovered my inner lust for all material things in wearable forms! I've since had a personal style blog where I compile life's random events and photos, current musings and a lot of various things like my daily outfits.

 

INDULGE : Where do you get your inspiration from?

 

WILLABELLE : Inspiration for me comes from everywhere; people on the streets, particular books and magazines, the internet, old photos, art and design, and so on! I believe that anything and everything can forms of inspiration, it just depends on how you see things.

 

INDULGE :  Who are your influences now in clothing, who do you think has "good style"?

 

WILLABELLE : Alexa Chung would be considered as one of my favourite style icons because she mixes high-end fashion brands with street-wear or vintage finds. Her style confirms that fashion isn't about what you wear, but how you wear it. Models also have really unique styles, especially Abbey Lee Kershaw, who is pretty much the epitome of chic.

 

INDULGE : What are your favourite labels to wear?

 

WILLABELLE : I take pleasure in buying clothes from all over the place so I don't have a favourite label. However, Topshop and Forever21 sells affordable clothing that every girl would kill to have. My current favorite designers would include Alexander Wang for his versatile and fresh designs, Alexander McQueen for his intricate and extremely exaggerated haute couture pieces, and Phillip Lim for his use of textiles to create something amazing.

 

INDULGE : Describe your styling process, how do you know something is "styled" to your liking?

 

WILLABELLE : My daily outfits are normally based on my mood at that point of time so if I'm feeling all light and happy, I might be decked out in florals. However, I could also be wearing an all-black ensemble the following day. I love accessories in the forms of headbands, scarfs, rings or necklaces, and I tend to feel bare when I don't have a ring on one of my fingers. It's all in the little details, haha.

 

INDULGE : What area of fashion do you see yourself in, in the future?

 

WILLABELLE : As an aspiring fashion editor, I would love to intern and hopefully work for VOGUE one day! Being a fashion designer or stylist would also be nice, just something along the lines of fashion.

 

INDULGE ; What is one piece of advice...etc?

 

WILLABELLE : Never, ever wear leggings as pants! People who do, frighten me.
